Queso #tothemax for this Weekend

Queso #ToTheMax
for The Big Game
-Recipe Below-

For this Sunday's football bonanza, we thought about what the best snack really is. We thought about concocting some crazy thing you'd likely never see at Pete's. But when you already have it, it's hard to fully get on board with reinventing the wheel. The truth is, no matter how creative we try to get, we usually end up brainstorming while munching on chips and queso. And sometimes snazzing it up to impress each other. Because if we're being honest, it really is that f*ing good, and we're really that into queso. Still.

So, below you will find a recipe that isn't too fancy, but it does take our queso #tothemax.

Fun fact: Pete at one point wanted to change our tagline to "To The Max"....And actually, he still might.

Keep in mind though that this is just one way to kill the game. If you have queso dreams of your own, follow those dreams! Chances are they'll lead you to something amazing. And if you do, report back! We want to see what other creations are knocking socks off.
Queso #ToTheMax

Serves roughly 4-8, depending on how much this is the main snack or mixed with other things. To modify the recipe, just keep in mind the ratio of queso to meat to extras is 4:2:1.

Ingredients:
  • Pete's Pantry:
  • 1 Quart Queso (i.e. 32 oz.)
  • 16 oz. Shredded Beef (we bought a Quart and ate the rest with some BBQ sauce and some bread...and just out of the container, let's be honest)
  • Note: You can swap the shredded beef for our Chorizo! Just make sure to order it between 10am-1pm today, tomorrow, or Sunday!
  • Also from our menu:
  • 8 oz. pickled Jalapeno
  • 8 oz. Salsa Fresca
  • 2 large bags of Tortilla Chips

  1. Break out your crockpot for the full effect (2-quart works best for this portioning), and turn heat to Low. Though a saucepan will work fine too, just won't stay as toasty throughout the event.
  2. Pour in your queso, shredded beef and as much of the jalapeños and salsa you want, keeping in mind the more you add the more spicy and chunky it will be, respectively. Some can definitely be reserved for those to add on top on their own.
  3. Stir to mix ingredients together, put the lid on, and heat through.
  4. EAT UP!!!
